Every Year in the UK, more than 100,000 new cases of skin cancer are diagnosed. Many of these cases result from over exposure to sun whilst the patient was a child.
This is why NScessity launched the Sun Essentials range of UV protective products. It was a natural extension of what we were doing with Baby Essentials – bringing the absolute best to our customers to make life for everyone just that little bit easier.

Peace of Mind
We don’t just test our products ourselves. The fabric used in our Second
Skins, Popper and Flotation suits, sun hats and separates has been tested
by CANSA (the Cancer Association of South Africa) and endorsed by them
too.

Our fabric has been tested to meet other rigorous safety standards – rest assured you’re getting the best.
UV Protective Swimwear
Our Second Skins are fantastic. Made of very lightweight, fast drying
fabric they offer UV protection to the equivalent of SPF 50. Children
love wearing them too – it’s like a wetsuit but without the spongy bulk,
it offers a far greater level of comfort in warmer weather.
Flotation and Popper Suits
Our Flotation Suit is just about the best swimsuit you can get. Made
from the same rigorously tested UV protective material as our Second Skins,
it is engineered to the child’s weight and angles the child slightly forward
into the swimming position. When not in the water, the floats can be removed
to create a UV protective sun suit.
To help parents of babies and small toddlers, our UV range also has a
popper suit – making nappy and swim pants changing quick and easy whilst
offering UV protection to SPF 50+.
Playing in the Sunshine
Children love playing in tents, our Travel Centre can be used in a multitude
of ways. It pops up in seconds and offers a high level of UV protection,
it comes with a self inflating mattress, mosquito nets and a sleeping
bag with safety toggles for tiny babies to ensure that the feet to foot
guidance is easy to stick to.
Don’t stay too long in the Sunshine
Because of our expertise in audio and video monitoring, it seemed natural
to find something that can help parents in the sunshine too. The Personal
UV Monitor does just that. You enter skin type and SPF factor of your
lotion and the monitor will give an audible signal when its time to reapply
cream or get out of the sun. You can get a reading of the suns intensity
and easy to read icons make operating it a breeze.
Always Take Care in the Sunshine
Whilst the products in the Sun Essentials range are designed to make
life that bit easier, they cannot replace adult supervision. We recommend
that carers take great care when babies and children are in the sun,
getting sunburn can be very dangerous for children.
